Chris Sherwood, 44, of Squires, MO died at 9:03 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2007, at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, MO.
Chris was born September 9, 1963, in Neosho, MO, to Christopher Charles and Leatrice F. (Covington) Sherwood. He was a graduate of Seneca High School. He was a truck driver for FedEX for the last eight years. He was a member of the House of Prayers, in Thornfield, MO. He was also an Army reservist.
He married April Lawson on November 17, 1995 in Miami, OK and she survives.
Also surviving is a brother Robert C. Sherwood, of Carbondale, KS; a sister, Delores Talley, of Arlington, TX, two aunts, Mabel Walker of Wyandotte, OK, and Annette Gaylor of TX; two cousins, David R. Sherwood, of Wyandotte and Etta C. McMurtry of Goodman, MO.
Graveside services were held on Friday at Osborne Memorial Cemetery, Joplin. Rev. Stan Collins officiated.
Arrangements were under the personal care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin.

Carolyn S. McKibben, 72, Wyandotte, OK, passed into eternal rest at 6:14 p.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin, after a short illness.
Carolyn Sue Surridge was born May13, 1940 in Neosho, MO the daughter of Robert William and Nellie Fern Moreland Surridge. Carolyn had lived in the area all her life. She had worked as a teller for the former State Bank of Seneca and had work as a secretary for the former B. Brite Agency also in Seneca. Carolyn was a member of the Seneca Church of Christ.
Carolyn married Howard McKibben March 17, 1984 in Miami, OK and he survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Lyndon McKibben, Wyandotte; three daughters, Glenda Jean Cohen and Drenda Jean McKibben-Coelho both of New York City and Brenda Jean Hacker, Albany, NY; one brother, Paul Surridge, Seneca; two sisters Pasty Chester and Anna Henery both of Seneca and five grandchildren.
Funeral services under the personal care of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 31, 2007 at the Seneca Church of Christ with Peter Persson, Minister officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Thomas McKibben, Trenton Wilson, Seth Wilson, Marvin Chester, Don Chester and Jerry Chester serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 2 - 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Virginia M. Duncan, 74, Neosho, died at 2:52 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007 at her home, following a one year illness. Mrs. Duncan was born May 24, 1933 in Neosho. She had lived in Wichita, KS and Galveston, TX, returning to the Neosho area in 1978.
She previously worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone and had owned and operated a flower shop in Joplin, Virginias Flowers.
She is survived by a son, Mark Dickerson of the home; two nephews, James Capps, Joplin and Mike Capps, Neosho and a niece, Lori Smith, OK. She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace W. Capps and Florence (McCracken) Capps and a brother, James Capps.
Graveside services will be Monday, Dec. 24, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Seneca Cemetery, Ralph Walker, will officiate. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 pm.
Contributions in memory of Virginia may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. Services directed by Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.

Fred Lonazo Sherwood, 83, Park City, Kansas, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2007.
He was born September 4, 1924, in Bernice, Oklahoma to Willis Al and Ethel Sherwood. He was a retired Park City Director of Public Works and True value Hardware employee.
He is survived by his wife Isabel of the home; children:?Patsy Sherwood, Park City, KS; Bill and Rhonda Sherwood, Augusta, George and Karin Sherwood, Valley Center; Fred and Teressa Sherwood, Springfield, MO; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Freddie; infant daughter, Linda Kay; parents; brothers, Alfred and Glenn Sherwood; and sisters Jean Maddox and Dorothy Shanks.
Sherwood attended school in Wyandotte, OK. He and his wife lived in the Wyandotte / Seneca area many years before moving to Kansas.
Interment will be following the service at Kechi Township Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Baker Funeral Home Valley Center.

Caleb Cheyenne Kuhn, age 19, of Seneca passed away at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2007 as the result of injuries from an automobile wreck.
He was born February 9, 1988 in Joplin, MO to Wes & Carmen (Morris) Kuhn. He was a 2006 graduate of Seneca High School and was employed by Lazy Boy in Neosho.
Caleb is survived by his parents, Wes & Carmen, and his two sisters Kaci & Hannah of the home. Additional survivors are his paternal grandparents Larry & DeLynn Kuhn of Seneca; maternal grandparents; John & Pat Morris of Neosho, and great-grandmother Helen Kuhn of Seneca. He is also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Gus Kuhn and great-great-grandmother, Mabel Bettis.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Seneca.
Throughout his short life Caleb was an avid outdoorsman with a love for hunting and fishing. He was also heavily involved in the Newton County 4-H and Seneca FFA clubs looking forward to fair time each year. He also loved to ride bulls, trucks & tractors or anything to do with cows, horses or the country life.
Caleb is now at rest with his Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and will be forever and deeply missed by his family & friends.
Funeral Services are under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church, Seneca, with Bro Fred Mills officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church prior to funeral services.
Burial will be in Kirk Cemetery, Seneca, MO with Andrew Bresee, Caleb Davis, Zach Ehrhart, Trevor Frye, Weldon Patton, Josh Sparks, Jake Welch and Trent Wilson serving as pallbearers.

Leonard L. Herring, age 78, of Harrison, AR died on December 16, 2007 at Skaggs Community Hospital in Branson, MO.
Mr. Herring was born to William and Sadie (Howard) Herring at Neck City, MO on October 14, 1929. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Stephen Paul Herring.
Leonard Herring was a member of Eagle Heights Baptist Church, and a retired southern Baptist minister.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Golden) Herring, of the home, a sister, Ivie Robbins of Seneca, MO, a son, Clayton A. Herring of McLoud, OK; two daughters, Jeanine F. Herring of Harrison, AR and Becky L. Herring of West Lake, LA, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday, December 20, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Eagle Heights Baptist Church, Harrison, AR, with Dr. Jim Bryant and Dr. Tommy Turner officiating. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery, with Eddie Beck, Bill Bland, Tom Dinnean, Cris Crismon, Ray Phillips and Mitchell Powers serving as pallbearers. Sharon Sue Hagerman, 67, Bronaugh, MO passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at her home in Bronaugh. She was born on August 6, 1940 in Seneca, MO to Doris Roark Yocum and Freda Erma Turner Yocum. She married George Duey Hagerman on November 9, 1963 and he survives of the home.
Sharon was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, George Duey Hagerman, Bronaugh, MO; three children, Tony Hagerman, Chelsea, OK, George W. Hagerman, Nevada, MO and Teressa Hagerman, Overland Park, KS. Other survivors include George W. Hagerman II and Michael Hagerman; two brothers, Gale Yocum, Knob Noster, MO and Claude Yocum, Seneca, MO; two sisters, Sara Pumphrey, Carlton, OK and Nancy King, Wyandotte, OK; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; 36 nieces and nephews; and Baby and Fuzzy.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2007 at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, MO with Dr. William Cox and Rev. Paul Fishell officiating. Carolyn Yocum will be playing the piano and singing In the Garden (Sharons favorite song). Dr. Hugo Gibson will be playing the bagpipes. Pallbearers include Tony Hagerman, George W. Hagerman II, Michael Hagerman, Nathan Hagerman, Jimmie Storie and Zachary Hagerman.
Interment followed in Swars Prairie Baptist Church, Seneca, MO at 2:30 p.m. following the services.

Margie Lee Wilson was born May 17, 1930 in Ottawa County, OK the daughter of Louis H. Baker and Ruby M. Lawson Baker. She was a homemaker and had drove a school bus for the Westview C6 School District.
Margie married Wayne H. Wilson in March of 1947 and he preceded her in death October 29, 1976.
Survivors include one daughter Patty Gooch, Neosho; 3 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Margie was preceded in death by one daughter Shery Byrd and one sister Freda Addington.

Betty L. McKinzie, Mt. Vernon, 79, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 9:35 a.m. in her home.
She was born February 8, 1928 in Seneca, Missouri to Roscoe and Esther (Sherer) Lankford. On April 21, 1948 she married R.E. Mac McKinzie in Columbia, Missouri. He preceded her in death May 18, 1996.
Betty was a 1946 graduate of Seneca High School and worked on the family farm. She was a member of the Aurora Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Dan of Republic and Don of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Dea Furgason and Diana Weston both of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Marceline Rinehart of Seneca; nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and her Honduran sponsored child, Roxanna.
Her parents, twin sons Dave and Denis, one sister and one brother also preceded her in death.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2007 in the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home with burial in the Thompson Grove Cemetery, Seneca, Missouri.

Elmer G. Kingfisher of Wyandotte, OK passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, MO after a long illness. He was 63.
Elmer was born Dec. 31, 1943, in Picher, OK to Sam and Ollie (Lawhead) Kingfisher. He graduated from Picher High School in 1963 and had lived in the Picher, Wyandotte area all of his life.
He had worked at Seneca Indian School in Wyandotte, OK, as a counselor and had worked at Bordertown Casino in Seneca, MO in the Maintenance Department.
Mr. Kingfisher was very proud of his Native-American heritage. He was of Cherokee descent and of the Wolf Clan. He gave speeches around the country on Native-American knowledge and culture and was a spiritual advisor to many. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and loving family. He was a wonderful person, a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Duke Kingfisher, and a sister, Louise King.
He married Brenda Frost on June 24, 1967, in Afton, Okla. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include one son, Ronnie Glenn Kingfisher and his wife Cyndi of Wyandotte, OK; a daughter, Clista Wynea Newman and her husband James of Seneca, MO; Tracy Mullen, and her sons, Wade, Dakota and Wyatt; three sisters, Gladys Thatcher of Claremore, Okla., Lucinda Sveen of Portland, Ore., and Marion Thompson of Miami, Okla., and five grandchildren, Christian Schrader, Kaden Schrader and Greyson Newman of Seneca, Skyleigh Kingfisher of Baxter Springs, Kan., and Kyah Kingfisher of Wyandotte.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Okla. Charles Whitekiller officiated.
Indian rites were conducted by Jim and Molly Smith. Interment was in the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Okla.

Feral Wayne Neal was born March 20, 1944 in Wilburton, KS the son of William Ray and Marguritt Irene Neal. Wayne was an instructor for the Army where he had served 27 years and 4 months.
Feral Wayne Neal married Glenda Black July 21, 1990 in Miami, OK and she survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, William E. Neal, Seneca and David W. Neal, Riverton, KS; one step-son, Gary Drake, Fort Sill, Ok; one daughter, Erin Crease, Seneca; two brothers, Obert Neal and Darrell Neal both of Galena, KS and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother LaRandall Neal.

Eva was born September 23, 1914 in Rocky Comfort, MO, the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Jane Philpott. She had lived in the area for many years. Eva was a homemaker and had worked as a cook in the restaurant business. Eva was a member of Wayside Assembly of God.
Survivors include her daughter, Bea Schultz of the Miami area; son, Carl Schultz of Wyoming; two brothers, Marvin Phillpott, Arizona and Buck Phillpott, Texas; one sister, Nellie Marie Kinzer, Tulsa; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Thomas Oneal (Neal) Mandrell, age 77, of Yuma, Arizona passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from injuries suffered in a vehicle accident. Born October 12, 1930 in Hubbard, Texas, he was the son of T.G. and Coy E. Mandrell of Holtville, California.
He is survived by two daughters, Shanna Mandrell of Seneca, MO and Jody Brown of Delta Junction, AK; one son, Faron (Moey) Mandrell, also of Seneca; two grandsons, Casey Mandrell of Santa Clarita, CA and Cody Mandrell of Flower Mound, TX; one brother, Larry Mandrell and wife Sandra of Phoenix, AZ.
Neal was a member of the Seneca community for several years, and coached the first Pee Wee football team. He also coached the Seneca girls softball teams, the Rockettes and the Whipettes, all of which enjoyed several winning seasons.
Memorial services were held on November 26, 2007 at Sunset Vista Funeral Home of Yuma, AZ. A private interment will be held at a later date.

Mr. Moore was born April 4, 1956 in Granby, MO and had worked 13 years at Sunbeam and had owned and operated Bug Away Pest Control. He was a volunteer with the Newton County Sheriff Department.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila; three sons, Teddy Moore, Stark City, MO; Gus Moore and Jacob Moore, both of the home; three brothers, Russell Moore and Gene Moore, Granby; Roger Moore, Lansing, KS and one sister, Sharon Jackson, Granby. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
Services will be Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007 at 1:00 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho, MO and burial will be in the Mound Chapel Cemetery, Newtonia.

Dave was born September 6, 1953 in Miami, OK and moved to Anderson, IN in March, 1992. He worked for Coca-Cola in Anderson and Americas Propane in Noblesville, IN before becoming a freight relocator.
Dave was a member of the Bridge Community Church in Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Strickland of Anderson; daughter, Kelsey Strickland of Orlando, FL; two sons, Zachary Strickland and Lucas Strickland, both of Shelbyville, TN; grandson Colton Strickland of Shelbyville, TN; parents, Clayton and Fran Strickland of Wyandotte, OK and Buck and Janiece Lawson of Exeter, MO; three brothers, Rick Strickland of Oklahoma City, OK, Gary Strickland of Pleasant View, TN, Kent Strickland of Seneca, MO; three step-brothers and three step-sisters.

Norman L. Johnson of Wyandotte, Oklahoma died Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at his home after an illness. He was 69.
Mr. Johnson was born November 28, 1937 in Joplin, Missouri to Otis and Mayme Bell (Boles) Johnson. He lived most of his life in the Wyandotte area. He was a heavy equipment operator, working pipelines for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Navy. He is of the Protestant faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Louise Hendrickson, Meda McFarland and Doyle Loncarich and three brothers: Otis Johnson, Vern Johnson and Blacky Johnson.
Survivors include three sons: David Johnson, of the home, Terry Johnson of Glendale, AZ, Allen Johnson of Missouri, one daughter, Melanie Stilley of Wyandotte, OK, one brother, Dale Johnson of Oronogo, MO, and eight grandchildren.

Jack was born August 19, 1918 in Stanton, IL. Jack had lived in the area most of his life he was well known as the door greeter at the Nursing Home. He was of the Catholic Faith.
Jack is survived by two sisters, Virginia Montgomery, Seneca and Patsy Lepinski, Sun City Center, FL and a host of family.
Funeral services were held at the Campbell-Biddlecome Chapel at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2007 with Rev. Fred Mills officiating. Burial was in the St Mary Catholic Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Milton Lee Vangunda, age 42, of Southwest City, Missouri was called to heaven on Sunday, November 4, 2007 at St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin, MO following a short battle with cancer.
Milton began his journey on June 6, 1965 in Joplin, Missouri, one of six children born to Lloyde and Neva Vangunda. Milton spent his childhood in the Hart Community and graduated from Seneca High School in 1984. He was employed with Simmons Foods at Southwest City, Missouri and Hudson Foods of Noel, MO for many years. Milton worked with his brother at Roberts Repair and Collision for 12 years.
Milton is survived by four children whom he was very proud of: Cynthia Hair and husband Josh of Jane, MO; Ashley Castle and husband Ricky of Jane, MO; Michael Vangunda and Rachel Vangunda of Noel, MO; and two grandchildren. His father Lloyde and wife Sharon Vangunda of Joplin, MO; four brothers: M. L. Vangunda and wife Yvonne of Kansas City, MO; Robert Vangunda and wife Kim, Dannie Vangunda, of Noel, MO; Manford and wife Dana of Seneca, MO along with a host of nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors who will dearly miss Milton.
Milton was preceded in death by his mother Neva Vangunda and sister Helen Gaye Vangunda.
Milton was a wonderful father, brother, son and dear friend to many. He accepted the Lord as his personal Savior on August 22, 2007 and was a member of the Spring City Church of Christ. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Miltons life will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Hart Baptist Church north of Tiff City, Missouri. Brother Bob Stafford will officiate. Miltons wishes were to donate his body to science.
Memorial contributions in loving memory of Milton can be made to the Vangunda Children Educational Fund in care of the funeral home.

Herby Clay Helm Jr. was born in Seneca, MO the son of Herby Clay Sr. and Juna Moreen Helm. He had lived in the area all his life. Herby owned and operated the former Herb Helms Market in Seneca. He was a past President of the Seneca Chamber of Commerce and a member of the United Rubber Workers Union, Show-me Trailer Club, Indian Nation Trailer Club and the United Methodist Men. Herby was a 32nd degree Mason of the Blue Lodge in Neosho and a member of the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine.
Herby Clay Helm Jr. married Norma Lee Watts, June 15, 1947 in Seneca, MO and she survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Mike Helm and wife Rhonda, Seneca; one daughter Sarah Anderson and husband Steve, Fairfield, TX; one sister Mary Ruth Thompson, Seneca; 4 grandchildren. Stephanie Thorne and husband John, Shara Rickett and husband Cory, Maxwell Helm and wife Pam and Seth Anderson; 3 great-grand children, Taylor, Alyssa and Will Thorne.
Herby Clay was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Ashley Helm.
A Celebration of Life service was held at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 5, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Seneca with Rev. Cynthia Royce officiating. Honorary Pallbearers were John Thorne, Cory Rickett, Seth Anderson, Maxwell Helm and Shan Lawson.

Janice Diann Ferris of Miami, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after an illness. She was 60.
Mrs. Ferris was born January 5, 1947 in Hart, Missouri to Melvin and Opal (Hendry) Whitehead. She had lived in the Miami and Seneca area all her life. She was a member of Church by the Park at Twin Bridges. She graduated from Seneca High School in 1964 and entered college in 1989. She graduated from NEO in Miami in 1991, and she graduated from Northeastern State University at Tahlequah in 1993. She taught Special Education at Caney Valley High School in Ramona, OK and later taught at Foyil Elementary School in Foyil, OK. She retired in 2000.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Chester Whitehead and Claude Whitehead, and two sisters, Helen Vinson and Juanita Grant.
She married Kenneth Ferris on November 5, 1965 in Hart, Missouri. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include: four children: Kendra Wright and husband Gary of Miami, OK; Scott Ferris and wife Shelly of Miami, OK; Bettie Henson Payne of Miami, OK; and Jan Ferris of Springboro, OH: five brothers: Charles Whitehead and wife Eunice, Seneca, MO; Clyde Whitehead and wife Betty, Seneca, MO; Clinton Whitehead and wife Donna, Seneca, MO; Clarence Bud Whitehead and wife Delores of Neosho, MO, and Clifford Whitehead and wife Marie of Neosho, MO; two sisters: Jean Nally and husband Gary of Seneca, MO; and Pam Brown and husband Claude of Seneca, MO: eleven grandchildren: Karissa Langley, Quinten Langley, Caira Johnson, Lora Johnson, Roman Johnson, Ella Johnson, Ranson Ferris, K.J. Kenneth Ferris, Ashlin Ferris, Dakota Payne and MaKenna Payne, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Northwest Baptist Church in Miami, OK. Rev. Clyde Stilley officiated. Interment was in the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Oklahoma. Pallbearers were Rickey Whitehead, Danny Whitehead, Loran Newsom, Mac Whitehead, Curtis Belt, Keith Carpenter, Tony Holden and Earl Vinson. Services were under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami, Oklahoma.

Roy William Bill Sherwood, 73, Rural Wyandotte, OK, passed into eternal rest at 2:00 AM, October 30, 2007 at his sons home in Joplin after a battle with cancer.
Bill was born December 25, 1933 in Ottawa County, OK, the son of James William and Rosa Ella Elam Sherwood on the farm in which he lived on of most his life. He had retired from King Press where he was a machinist. Bill also drove a truck and had owned and operated the former Seneca Tire. Bill was a 1952 graduate of Wyandotte High School.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Sherwood in 2004, his son James William Sherwood in 2007.
Survivors include three sons, John Sherwood and Ron Sherwood both of Joplin and Don Sherwood, Wyandotte; One daughter Tammye Harding, Riverton, KS; one brother Bob Sherwood, Miami, OK; two sisters Doris Cantwell, Wyandotte and Dorothy Hinshaw, Miami, OK; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-children.
Funeral Service under the personal care of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, Nov. 2, 2007 at East Side Assembly of God with Rev. Gary Rhoads officiating. Sarah Ann Black was born September 6, 1979 in Cheyenne, WY the daughter of Deacon Jim James O. Black and Donna S. Penner Black. Sarah had lived in Burlington the last three years. She had a Masters Degree and was employed by the Internal Revenue Service as a sign language interrupter. Sarah was a member of RID Registry, a member of Chi Omega Sorority, a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Burlington and she was a tribal member of the Caddo Indian Tribe. She graduate of William Woods University, Fulton, MO and received her Masters of Arts of Interpreter in Gallaudet, Washington, D.C.
Sarah married Raleigh Ritter June 28, 2003 at the St. Johns Catholic Church in Bartlesville, OK.
Sarah leaves behind her husband Raleigh and thirteen month old daughter Evelyn Claire Ritter, her father and mother Deacon Jim Black and Donna Black, Bartlesville, OK, one brother Christopher Black, Kansas City, Kansas, two sisters, Rebekah Burns and Susanna Black both of Bartlesville, OK, Paternal Genevieve Black, Maternal Nona Penner and a host of family and friends.

George Ernest Fleetwood, Jr., 87, Joplin, formerly of Seneca, MO, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007 at St. Johns Medical Center, following a short illness.
George was born March 24, 1920 in Monett, MO and was a lifelong area resident. He served in the U. S. Army and had worked as a residential lineman for Empire District Electric Company. He was a member and former deacon at the First Baptist Church in Seneca and a member of the Neosho Masonic Lodge and Shrine Club.
George and Hazel Jeanne Berrier were married on Feb. 14, 1941 at Ozark, MO and she preceded him in death on June 9, 2001.
He is survived by three children, Russell Fleetwood and Jo Slaughter, both of Joplin and Sydnia Morgan, N. Little Rock, AR; two grandchildren, Douglas Morgan and Paula Evans, one great-grandchild, Katrina Morgan and a sister, Wilma Garrett, San Diego, CA.

Roy Lee Stovall, age 59, of Zena, Oklahoma went home to be with our Lord in Heaven on August 10, 2007. Roy was born August 2, 1948 in Joplin, Missouri to Roy James Stovall and Isabell True Snow Stovall. He married his high school sweetheart on September 13, 1965 in Neosho, MO. His wife of almost 42 years, Mary (Brigham) Stovall, survives.
Also surviving are sons Mike and wife Edee of Salem, OR; Mark and wife Kati of Dallas, OR; John of Dallas, OR; Luke and wife Kezra of Dallas, OR; and adopted daughter Kris Karloski and husband Mike of Canby, MN.
Surviving grandchildren are: Heather (Stovall) Poore and husband Ben, Eric Stovall and Fiancee, Joy Swain, Mark Kevin Stovall, Kade Metger, Andrew Mikey Karloski, Mallanni Karloski, and a baby grandson to be born September 2007 to Luke and Kezra Stovall. Great-grandchildren are Kailey Karloski, Zyiann, and a baby to be born February, 2008 to Eric & Joy Stovall.

Roy was preceded in death by both parents, Roy and Isabell, his brother, James Stovall, sister Trudy (Stovall) White, and grandson Daniel Lee Stovall.
Roy attended high school in Seneca, MO and lived in that area until 1976 when he relocated to Salem, OR. Roy worked at various jobs over the years, but retired from a cannery in Salem, OR, Agripac Plant 1, where he had worked for 24 years. He drove front end loaders and did maintenance in the winter there. He was a member of Teamsters Local 670, where he earned his pension. He enjoyed family, woodworking, fishing, bird watching, he loved to drive and he loved his dogs. He retired in 2005 and settled in Zena, OK.

Clara Deane Rorabaugh Welkr, 86, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at her home in Bella Vista. She was born on August 17, 1921 in Cordell, Oklahoma to Luther and Ollie Killough.
Following WWII, Leo and Clara Deane moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico where they began LeDeane Photography Studio. Clara Deane was active in many aspects of the business including hand painting black and white portraits. She was a member of Rocky MPPA. Following Leos retirement, they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and finally settled in beautiful Bella Vista. Clara Deane and Warren married December 11, 1998. Clara was a member of the Bella Vista Church of Christ and worked as a volunteer for the church. She was a member of the Bella Vista Quilters Group. She shared her remaining years with Warren among the beauty of Bella Vista. Her avid love of nature was equaled only by her devotion to the Razorbacks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Leo Edgar Rorabaugh in 1986; sister, Mildred Miller, and two nephews, Kelly Miller and Mal Miller.
She is survived by her husband, Warren Welker of Bella Vista, Arkansas; two sons; Dan Rorabaugh and wife, Linda of Conroe, Texas, Jason Rorabaugh of Surprise, Arizona; one daughter, Kim Frampton of Phoenix, Arizona; two stepsons, Larry Welker and wife, Donna of Owasso, Oklahoma, Jack Welker and wife, Linda of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one stepdaughter, Gretchen Renne and husband, Larry of Van Alstyne, Texas; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews from the Seneca area.
A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2007 at the Bella Vista Church of Christ, 8889 West McNelly Road, Bentonville, Arkansas with Randall Caselman officiating. Wanda was born August 14, 1930 in the Patterson Heights area of McDonald County, MO, the daughter of William and Ruby Landon. She was a homemaker and had worked at the former Boyers IGA in Seneca. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Seneca and a member of the Eastern Star.
Wanda married Howard Dobbs March 10, 1950 in Bentonville, AR and he preceded her in death August 6, 2001.

Jimmie Ritter, Jr., 81, Seneca, died at 9:00 a.m., Sat., Oct. 13, 2007 at Freeman Neosho Hospital, following a short illness. Mr. Ritter was born April 29, 1926 in Seneca, MO, the son of Jimmie J. Ritter, Sr. and Hettie (Hightower) Ritter.
He grew up in the Seneca area, lived in California for 40 years and returned to Seneca in the 1980s. He was a truck driver and cattle farmer.
Surviving are three sons, James R. (Jim) Ritter; David Ritter and Mike Ritter, all of Neosho; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and two sisters, Geraldine Mills, Moore, OK and Hettie Rickard, Derby, KS.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho on Monday from 9 am to 6:30 pm and the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Martha Jane Hemphill, 80, Seneca, Mo. passed into eternal rest at 5:00 AM, Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the Seneca House Nursing Home where she had lived since 1992.
Martha was born December 11, 1926 on a farm in Newton County the daughter of John and Alice Fritchey. Martha had worked for St. Johns Hospital as a CNA. She married Louis Hemphill and the age of 16. Martha and Loui owned and operated a dairy for many years. Louis preceded her in death in 1985. Martha was the first resident to move in the Seneca House Nursing Home in 1992. She was often called Queen Martha by the staff at the Seneca House. She enjoyed the outside and loved to help others even when her health was failing.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Clara was born March 31, 1922 in Show Low, Arizona, the daughter of Jess and Nora Wilson. She was a home maker. Clara was a Rosie the Riveter during WWII at the Good Year Aerospace Plant in Arizona. She had lived with her son and daughter-in law for the last five years.
Clara married Donald Charles Reilender in Phoenix, Arizona in 1955 and he preceded her in death in 1990.
Survivors include one son, Ronald Reilender and wife Cecelia; Grandchildren Aaron Reilender, Leah Reilender, Jamie Reilender and Nathan Reilender; Great Grandchildren, Julia Jenna, Kaden and Elijah and One sister, Geneva Cockerel of Phoenix, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Steve Wilson, Clyde Wilson, James Wilson, Temp Wilson; Jesse Hamblin, Bertha Eberwine and Amy Roska.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
Service will be held in Phoenix, Arizona October 20, 2007. Burial will be in the Greenwood Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Phoenix, Arizona.

While in High School he ran track and played football. After graduation he worked as a cook at a local restaurant. Kourtney was a member of St. Juliana Catholic Church in Louisiana.
Survivors include his father Russell and step-mother Judy; his mother Melody, his fianc/ Melissa King; one son, Desmond and step-children, Ronlissa, Nick, Ella, Izaiah and Olivia; two sisters, Hailey and Heather and a host of friends.
A memorial service was held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2007. Burial will be held in Louisiana at a later date.

Susan was born April 15, 1969 in Salinas, CA. She had lived in rural Wyandotte over 10 years and worked for McKees Bakery Little Debbies in Gentry, AR.
Susan married William Armstrong September 21, 2001 in Delaware County, OK and he survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Michael Hawkins of the home; one daughter, Joanna Hawkins, Grove; one step daughter Jaime Armstrong, Vinita; her mother, Carolyn Brooks; her father, John Rolls, step-mother Darlene Rolls and step-father Glenn Bridgeman; one brother, Waylon Rolls, Wyandotte, and a host of family and friends.

Denver was born February 12, 1940 in Neosho, MO the son of Kenneth D. and Eva Mae Tippit Easley. Denver had served in the Army Reserves and worked for Arrow Industries in Dallas, TX. He was a Mason.
Denver married Arlene Conduff November 21, 1959 in Ottawa County, Oklahoma and she survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Edward Easley and Michael Easley both of Seneca; one daughter, Nancy Hernandez, Seneca; one brother Lonnie Easley, Wyandotte; one sister, Dorethea Gabbel, Ft Worth, TX; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Virginia was born January 16, 1919 in Center Point, MO the daughter of Jonathan and Della Crawford. She had attended Jolley Mills School and Clear Creek Baptist Church in her early years. She married Donald McKinney June 4, 1931 in Pierce City, MO. Virginia and Donald had lived in the Ritchey area on a farm until moving to Seneca in 1954. Donald preceded her in death February 17, 1968. Virginia was a cook, a home maker and a member of the Ritchey Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter Donna M. Hoover and husband Roy of Seneca.
Virginia was also preceded in death by three brothers, Fritz Crawford, John Crawford and Frank Crawford; two sisters Irene Crowe and Mary Jane Crawford.
Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Bethel Baptist Church north of Seneca, with Rev. Fred Mills officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Tink Rakes, Cotton Bettis, George Fort, Tom Kuhn, Tom Marrs and Ivan Jones serving as pallbearers.

Beverly Ann Caulk, 56, Neosho, passed away at 1:56 a.m., Sun., Sept. 23, 2007, at her home following an illness. She was born Sept. 27, 1950, in Joplin, MO, to Joe and Mary (Martin) Crowder.
Beverly had lived in the Neosho area most of her life, and had been employed by La Z Boy. She was a licensed beautician, a cancer survivor, and a member of the Army Family Support Group.
She is survived by a son, Joey A. Caulk, Clarksville, TN; her mother, Mary Perkis, Neosho; a brother, Bob Crowder, Neosho; and four grandchildren, Chanler, Nathan, Nicole and Ashtyn.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Wed. at Clark Chapel of Memories. Rev. Tom Thorne officiated. Burial followed at Burkhart Cemetery, Racine. Serving as pallbearers were Jim Tuggle, Mike Keels, Bob Crowder, Rick Crowder, Scott McCammon, and Steve Loveday.

Olive Jean Merle Kidwell of Seneca, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri after an illness. She was 87.
Mrs. Kidwell was born April 9, 1920 in Picher, Oklahoma to Everett Roy and Marie Octava Johnson Moreland. She had lived in the area all her life. She was a member of the Seneca First Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Neosho, Missouri. She was a cook for Quapaw Public School for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sammie Blair Kidwell on April 10, 1976 and her parents, one son, Calvin Blair Kidwell, Sr., six sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include a brother, Audral Moreland of Twin Falls, Idaho, three grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Seneca, Missouri. Brother Aaron Weibel officiated. Interment was in the Seneca Cemetery in Seneca, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers were Marvin Chester, Howard McKibben, Paul Surridge, Clinton Clark, Jim Moreland and Arnold Moreland.
Services were under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami, Oklahoma.

Maurice Eugene Robinson was born January 3, 1931 in Wyandotte, OK the son of Edgar Leslie and Hester Lavinia Wallace Robinson.
Maurice was a Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. He worked for the Civil Service as an Electrician / Draftsman at the Naval Base on Terminal Island,CA. He was a life time member of the V.F.W. and had attended the Friends Church in Wyandotte. Maurice married Joan Ellis June 17, 1950 in Hollydale, CA and she survives.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Colleen Tolman and husband Tom, Huntington Beach, CA, Wendy Skaggs and husband Jess, Miami, OK and Karen Maglaughlin, Wyandotte, OK; 8 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, 8 sisters, Doris Robinson, Irene Estes, Hazel Flener, Wilma Miller, Thelma DuShane, Phyllis Gamboa and Nadine Robinson and 3 brothers, Glenn Robinson, Clifford Robinson and Arnold Robinson.

Elsie Marie Bowerman was born July 17, 1915 in Rogers, AR, the daughter of Willis and Grace Bowerman. She had lived at the Seneca House Nursing home for the last 6 years. Elsie formerly worked as a Nurse for Freeman Hospital and helped her husband in the auctioneer business. Elsie married W. Frank McClendon in 1938 in Joplin, MO and he preceded her in death March 20, 1998.
Survivors include one daughter, Lea Etta Brown, Miami, OK; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild.
Elsie was preceded in death by one brother Marion Bowerman.

David F. Bryant, 70, Corpus Christi, Texas, formerly of Topeka, Kansas was suddenly called home Friday, September 14, 2007.
David was a member of the First Baptist Church, Seneca, Missouri and the graduating class of 1955 of Seneca High School. David began his career with Volume Shoe and later was self-employed with Swiss Burger Meat, Capp Homes and Indianola Auto Body. David was a member of several clubs and also enjoyed many other activities including horses, automobiles and boating.
David loved spending time with people and being outdoors. David was loved by his family and many friends who will miss his sense of humor, many stories, knowledge and sound fatherly advice.
David and Shirley Jean Tippit were united in marriage in Wyandotte, Oklahoma on June 7, 1958. The union was blessed with four children. Mildred Millie Johnson, age 81, of Seneca went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 4:35 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2007 following a lengthy illness. Millie was born on August 1, 1926 in Anderson, Indiana, daughter of the late Herman and Margaret Driskell.
Millie married W. Walter Johnson on September 2, 1972 in Houston, Texas. They cherished over 35 years together. Walter and Millie owned and operated the Craft Shack in Joplin, before retiring in 1989.
She enjoyed cross stitching, painting, and was an avid bird watcher. She was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ in Neosho.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Dale, of Carrollton, Texas; two stepsons, Mark and Kevin; one stepdaughter, Cherie; one brother Bob Driskell and wife Rose, of Anderson, Indiana; two granddaughters, Monica Dale and Melissa Worthen; one grandson, Bobby Dale; one great-granddaughter, Megan Fortune; ten step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; one niece, Linda Henley; and two great nephews, Scott and Lance Rosencrans.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. Memorial services were 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hillcrest Church of Christ in Neosho with Danny Boggs, Minister, officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary.

Thomas G. Wohlt, 85, Seneca, formerly of Neosho, died at 5:55 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Seneca House following a five year illness. Mr. Wohlt was born December 19, 1921 in Glascow, Missouri, the son of Gilbert and Theckla (Barend) Wohlt.
He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during WW II, 1942-1946. He moved to Neosho in 1957 where he worked at Rocketdyne 11 years, then worked at Teledyne until his retirement in August, 1987. He was a member of the VFW.
Tom and Iris (Drusch) were married in 1948 at Hermann, Missouri and she survives. Additional survivors include a daughter, Susan West and husband, Joe, Seneca; two grandchildren, Emilee Jo West and Dylan Thomas West, Seneca; one brother, Paul Wohlt, Council Bluff, Iowa; one sister, Julie Workman and husband, George, Hermann, Missouri; 7 nieces and 3 nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Chadwick.
Graveside services were Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Neosho IOOF Cemetery, Rev. Ralph Walker officiated.

Ioan K. Kerns was born December 7, 1923 in Centralia, OK the daughter of Ruben and Myrtle Kerns. She had worked for a garment factory and was a homemaker. She was a member of the My Fathers House Church in Joplin.
Ioan married John Childress May 14, 1948 in Carl Junction and he preceded her in death July 30, 2003. She married Henry Barnhardt Aug. 22, 2003 and he survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Carol Hall, Perkins, OK and Leona Reyes, Yuma, AZ; two brothers, Richard Kerns and Ed Kerns both of Coffeyville, KS; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Ioan was preceded in death by one brother Raymond Kerns.

Mrs. Howard lived most of her life in Southwest MO. She was a homemaker and avid quilter. She was a member of the Town and Country Quilters of Joplin and the Joplin VFW Ladies Auxillary.
She is survived by her husband Fred Howard of the home; one daughter, Barbie Hance of Rocky Comfort; two stepsons, David Howard of Seneca and Ronnie Howard of Republic; two brothers, Lonnie Dunn of Monett, and Sonny Dunn of Wyandotte, OK; two grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 4 step great grandchildren.

He was a lifetime Seneca resident. He was a member of the first Baptist Church for 46 years where he served as a Deacon. He was employed at the Milnot Company for 35 years. He was an avid Professional Bull Rider Fan, fisherman and golfer.
He married Susan Elaine Mitchell on June 6, 1972. The have two daughters Stephanie and her husband Jim Hoover of Seneca, Stacey and her husband Mike Curtis of Foley, Alabama, 4 grandchildren, Emily, Sarah and Grant Hoover and Lane Hembree.
He is survived by 2 brothers Sherman Ball of Seneca and Danny Ball of Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sherman Ball Sr. and Nadine Ball Leader, his step father George Leader and his sister Vicki Massey.
Steve will always be remembered by all the nieces and nephews who called him Poppa. Also a host of family and friends.

Bessie married Monty Myers in 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1972. She married Delbert Thornbrugh in 1956 and he preceded her in death in 1977.
Survivors include three daughters Bunia Griffin, Wyandotte, Wanda Myers, of the home and Donna Randolth, Welch; three foster daughters, Naomi Gooch, Seneca, Betty Walker, and Donna Devore both of Miami; 21 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Beulah married Earnest Taylor April 9, 1949 in Bentonville, AR and he preceded her in death January 16, 1999.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Kenney, Hot Springs Village, AR and Carl Taylor, Seneca; two daughters Joyce Carpenter, Grove and Wanda Brady, Seneca; 18 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

She was the wife of the late Harold Zeiser of Maplewood, Missouri.
She is survived by her niece, Glenda Massey of Seneca.
She was a former resident of Maplewood, Missouri and member of Maplewood Baptist Church.
Arrangements were handled by Jay B. Smith Funeral Home Maplewood Chapel, 746 Manchester, Maplewood, Missouri. Graveside services and burial took place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirkwood, Missouri on August 31, 2007.
There will be a memorial service honoring Mrs. Zeisers life on Saturday, September 15, 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Seneca. Refreshments will follow the memorial service.

Rob Christopher Boehning was born November 12, 1964 at Edwards Air Force Base in California. He departed this life on August 19, 2007 at the age of forty-two. He was the son of John and Ruth Short Boehning of Joplin. He was the second of three children, with an older brother, Craig R. Boehning of Joplin and a younger sister, Julie L. (Boehning) Wilson of Mt. Vernon, Missouri surviving.
Rob lived in Seneca, Missouri after having lived in Tahlequah, Oklahoma for several years. Rob attended Harding University at Searcy, Arkansas and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He worked for General Mills at the Pillsbury facility in Joplin. In his free time, Rob enjoyed spending time with his son and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, brother and sister, Rob is survived by his son Christopher of Ozark, Missouri; two grandchildren, Katelynne Michelle Jeffries, and Natalee Mae Boehning; two nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services were held at Parker Mortuary Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 22. Private interment was at Seneca, Missouri. Arrangements were handled by Parker Mortuary of Joplin.

Elinore Haun Benfer Mitchell, Seneca, MO, died at 2:35 AM, Monday, August 20, 2007 at St. Johns Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Elinore was born September 16, 1933 in Fort Amador, Panama Canal Zone to Elbert and Margaret Benfer. She had lived in Fort Sheridan, IL, Fort Benning, GA and Fort Monmouth, N.J. She graduated from Rumson High School, Rumson, N.J. in 1953 and attended Monmouth Jr. College inLong Branch, N.J. and Rider College, Trenton, N.J.
Elinore married Walter E. Mitchell on February 8, 1953 at Fort Monmouth and he preceded her in death December of 2001.
Elinore and Walter moved in 1954 to Walters home town Seneca, Missouri, where they continued in the family business, the Seneca Telephone Company. In 1972 they bought Goodman Telephone Company, and she was the book keeper for both companies for over 30 years.
Elinores hobbies included singing in the Joplin Chapter of Sweet Adelines, golfing at Twin Hills Golf and Country Club, sewing, knitting, traveling and a proud member of the CRS group.
She is survived by her two sons; Jay Mitchell, Loma Linda and Brian Mitchell, Racine; her granddaughter, Bree Schnelle; her grandson, Coleman Mitchell and great-granddaughter Brinn Schnelle.
Services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Seneca with Rev. Cynthia Royce officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with David Cole, Mark Wyrick, Larry Prater, Kent Adams, Eric Decker and Brian Schnelle serving as pallbearers.
The casket will remain closed at all times.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Neosho Shrine Club Crippled Childrens Transportation Fund in care of the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, PO Box 380, Seneca, MO 64865.

James Jim Church
James Jim Church, age 78, a former Seneca area resident, passed into eternal rest with our Lord on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Life Care Center in Sierra Vista, Arizona after a long illness.
He was born August 11, 1929 in Grove, Oklahoma to Mark and Rosa Church.
Jim served his country in the U.S. Navy, retiring after twenty years of faithful service at the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Amos Church and Virgil Church and stepson, Elmer Renfro.
He married Doris (Meador) Church on April 11, 1951 and he is survived by their daughters; Alinda Ehrhart (Morris) of Seneca, Missouri; Janet Swadley (Charles) of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; and Janie Glendenning (Paul) of Pawhuska, Oklahoma.
He married Marjorie (Renfro) Church on March 15, 1986. She survives and is a resident of Huachuca City, Arizona. He was Grandad to ten grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister, Cecil Womack of Miami, Oklahoma; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Hatfield Funeral Home in Sierra Vista, Arizona with Pastor Larry Zetzman officiating. Interment with militaryhonors followed at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Bill Ward, Clint Ward, Morris Ehrhart, Justin Ehrhart, Tyler Ehrhart and Jeff Crandall. Arrangements were handled by Hatfield Funeral Home.

Rev. Anna Mae Griffin, 92, Goodman, MO formerly of Wyandotte, OK went to be with her Lord and Savior, 4:50 PM, Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at the Seneca House Nursing Home after an illness.
Anna Mae Beaver was born on April 29, 1915 in Eureka Springs, ARK the daughter of Ausker Lee and Etta Belle Beaver. Anna Mae was a homemaker and had served as a Assembly Of God Pastor over 60 years until recently retiring due to health problems. She was the Pastor of Turkey Ford Assembly Of God Church for 17 years, Seneca Assembly Of God for 3 years and Hart Assembly of God 2 years. Anna Mae was a member of the Seneca Assembly Of God Church in Seneca, MO and had attended Trinity Pentecostal Church in Goodman the last past 8 years.
Survivors include, one son, Vaughn Griffin and wife Della, Goodman; one daughter, Vivian Fink and husband Shannon, Wyandotte, OK; 6 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Anna Mae was preceded in death by two brother Rev. Elmo Beaver and Rev. Chester Beaver.
Services under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the Seneca Assembly Of God Church with Rev. Larry Convirs, Rev. Calvin Ackerson and Rev. Herman Jolley officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Grandsons and Great-Grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Family visitation will be held at the Seneca Assembly Of God Church from 6 to 7 PM Friday.

Gary Allen Landreth, age 69, Joplin, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2007 at his home.
Gary was born January 10, 1938 in Stark City, MO, son of the late Price Albert Landreth and Juanita Mary Hayes Landreth. He graduated from Midway High School (now East Newton) in Stark City and served in the Naval Reserve for several years. He retired from Eagle Picher after 42 years of service as Supervisor in the Environmental Lab. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, the N.R.A., and loved being outdoors, fishing, gardening or spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Landreth who died April 28, 2006.
Survivors include his sons, Mark Landreth and wife Tammy of Seneca, William Andrew Landreth of Ft. Meyers, FL; daughters, Cindy Wade and husband Jim of Tulsa, OK, Susan Abbey of Pittsburg, KS, and Melissa Marie Stillions and husband Doug of Joplin; sister, Binnie Schultz and husband Ed of Stark City, Connie Swift of Neosho, MO: grandchildren, Holly Page, Mandy Malla, Trisha Landreth, Jamin Landreth, Matthew Abbey, Dalton Johnson, Hunter Warren, Emma Warren, Brooklyn Warren; three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 10, 2007 at Parker MortuaryChapel with Johnny Wilkins officiating. Full Military Rites were provided by the Juliet Team of the local National Guard. Cremation followed the services.

Thomas V. Wencil, 61, Seneca, Mo, passed into eternal rest at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, August 4, 2007 at his home after a sudden illness.
Thomas was born December 1, 1945 in Oil City, PA the son of James and Margaret Wencil. He was a truck driver for Fikes Trucking in Hope Ark.
Survivors include two sons, Tommy Wencil Jr., Titusville, PA and Bryan Wencil, Wyandotte; three daughters, Tina Fee, Titusville, PA, Lisa Moore, Miami, OK and Sherry Wencil, Huston, TX; one brother Robert Wencil, Grand Valley, PA and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister Karen Hope.
The body has been taken for cremation and private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.

Victor Dean Zinn was born March 15, 1928 in Pleasant Ridge, Missouri to Jacob and Birchie Zinn. He was a retired truck driver working for several trucking companies including CFI. Victor was a WWII Army Veteran.
Survivors include one son, Victor Zinn Jr., Pleasant Hill, MO; his companion Betty Davis, Wyandotte, OK, and a host of friends.
Graveside services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at the Anderson Cemetery with Bob Wilson officiating.

Frank W. Doll
Frank W. Doll, 76, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at his home. He was born on April 20, 1931 in Webb City to John J. Doll and Elfie Curl Doll. Frank lived in Webb City his entire life, in the West End. He retired from Eagle Picher after 42 years, was a 32 degree Mason, and was a clown in the Joplin Shriners. He was very active in the Webb City Elks and at one time was commissioner and coach of the Webb City Little League.
Frank taught the JayCee shooter education program at the National Guard. He served in the Naval Reserve of Joplin and retired from the National Guard in Webb City and Joplin after 28 years of service. Frank drove a race car for a while but his love for hunting, fishing, and trapping filled most of his free time. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Fay, of the home; two sons, Michael in Iraq and Brenda Caylor of Jasper, Kirk and wife Rachel of Little Rock AFB in Arkansas; three daughters, Deborah and husband Bert Kleidon of Fairland Ok., Susan and husband Dennis Skaggs of Seneca, MO., Melinda and husband Shawn Porter of Jasper, MO.
He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, Steven and wife Shawnna Grigsby of Oronogo, Teddie and husband Shane Keeter of Galena, Kimmie and husband Josh Merril of Carthage, Brandi Grigsby of Carthage, Cody Grigsby of Carthage, Nathan Thomas of Seneca, Jeremy Thomas and wife Crystal of Webb City, Shawn Thomas and wife Chantal of U.S.N. San Diego, Josh Thomas and Ashley Conness of Neosho, Brock Skaggs of Carthage, Alexandria Doll of Jasper, Morgan Doll of Jasper, Erin Lindsey and Ashley Porter of Jasper, Chelsea and Zack Doll of Cabot, Arkansas, and 10 great grandchildren.
Frank is survived by two sisters, Ruth Green and husband Bob of Webb City, Twyla (Tiny) Betebenner and husband Tom of Webb City; brother, Charles (Chub) of Joplin; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by two sons, John and Aaron, his parents, John and Elfie Doll, and two brothers, Elvin and David. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 30, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City with Reverend Darin Youngberg and Reverend James McReynolds officiating. A visitation was held on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with Masonic Rites held at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial was held in Mount Hope Cemetery with full military honors.

Robert H. Siegfried Sr., 71, Rural Wyandotte, passed away, 7:43 a.m., July 24, 2007 at his home after an illness.
Robert was born December 12, 1935 in Higginsville, Mo and had lived in rural Wyandotte the last 10 years. He worked at the former 15th Street Lumber in Joplin for many years and was an Army Veteran serving from 1958 to 1960.
Survivors include one son, Robert H. Siegfried Jr., Latham, MO; one daughter, Teresa Tate, Wyandotte; one brother and one sister; 11grandchildren.
Services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2007 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Chapel, with James Stewart officiating. Eula Louise Lawrence of Seneca, Missouri departed this life on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri at the age of seventy-nine years.
Louise was born on March 31, 1928 in Seneca, Missouri daughter of the late Clarence Austin and Grace Ozella (Martin) Bradley. On August 12, 1950 in Bentonville, Arkansas she was united in marriage to Gerald Eugene West and to this union one daughter was born. They resided in Great Bend, Kansas for several years. Gerald passed on April 8, 1977 of lung cancer. Louise decided to leave Kansas and in 1983 she returned home to Seneca. Throughout her life she was a diligent and hardworking homemaker to her husband and family. Later in life she married Truman Lawrence and together they shared the last fifteen years. She was a wonderful cook who collected countless recipes and cookbooks. The memories she created for her family and friends will continue to live on in their hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Gerald "G.E." West; a brother, Virgil Bradley; and two sisters, Lena Martin and Hazel Graham.
Louise is survived by her husband, Truman Lawrence of the home; a daughter, Deborah Hudson and husband, Dan, of Elberon, Virginia; two grandsons, Christopher and Cody Bonner, both Unites Sates Army Soldiers; two great grandchildren, Tori Bonner and Jayden Paul-Bonner; a sister, Dona Vowels of Seneca, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Leonard was born March 7, 1923 in Seneca, the son of Paul and Lillian Stelts and had lived in Seneca the majority of his life. Leonard worked in the transportation business holding positions from truck driver to manager over the years. He also was a farmer and a Army Air Force Veteran serving in WW II. He was a member of the Seneca Christian Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge 247 in Neosho.
Leonard married Frances Trapp in 1956 and she preceded him in death February 23, 2002.
Survivors include his fianc/ Betty Rosiere, Seneca; 3 sons Bobby Stelts, Seneca, Mike Stelts, Joplin and Jim Stelts, Laredo, TX; one daughter, Roberta Roan, Zachary, LA; Nine Grandchildren and One Great-Grandchild.
Leonard was preceded in death by two infant daughters Patricia Sue and Sandra Darlene.

Doug was born December 13, 1966 in Joplin, the son of Calvin Leon and Pamela Sue Clouse and had lived in the area all his life. He was a mechanic and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Joplin.
Doug married Sandra Ferguson September 21, 1990 in Miami, Ok and she survives.

Clarence Lee Carnes was born December 4, 1927 in Higgins, TX the son of Barney C. and Maggie Ola Peters Carnes. He had lived in the area over 20 years and had formerly owned and operated a dry wall company.
Clarence married Mary Isabell Hudson January 15, 1944 in Mineral Wells, TX and she preceded him in death November 16, 1983.
Survivors include four sons, Lonny Carnes, Shady Shores, TX, Ronnie L. Carnes, Denver, CO, Clarence Lee Carnes Jr., Grove and Donnie C. Carnes, Seneca; one daughter, Gloria DeLong, Raybum Gap, Georgia; one brother Clyde Carnes, Glenn Rose, TX; one sister Margot Dow, Mineral Wells, TX; 22 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.

Carolyn Broderick, 76, Seneca, MO. went to be with her Lord at 1:00 AM, Monday, July 9, 2007 at St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin after an illness.
Carolyn was born August 19, 1930 in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of William and Florence Carpenter. She had lived in Seneca 47 years and had worked for the Big Smith garment factory, retiring from Eagle Picher in Seneca. She was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church in Seneca.
Carolyn married Joseph L. Broderick June 26, 1949 at Wela Park east of Seneca and he preceded her in death September 17, 1988.
Carolyn was a charter member for the Homebound Meals program for the United Methodist Church since its beginning in 1991. She was a prayer chain leader for the United Methodist Church for more than 15 years. She will also be remembered for her many creative flowers from her garden that she shared with the local United Methodist congregation.
Survivors include one son, Dewayne Broderick and wife Arlene, Hunble, Texas; one daughter Carol Ann Lankford and husband Terry, Seneca; one sister, Martha Carillo, Taylor, Texas; four grandchildren, Matt Lankford and wife Sarah, Michelle and husband Jeff, Angela Harrington, Tami Hudson; great grandchildren, Gabe and Karah Lankford, Rachael Wilcox, Chelcee Burton, Alec Hudson, Amberly Seefeldt and Makenna Broderick.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Martin Carpenter and Bill Carpenter.

Norman was born November 25, 1922 in Wyandotte, OK the son of Charles and Bessie Lofland. He was a Navy Veteran serving during WWII on the USS Portland stationed at Pearl Harbor. Norman had worked for Vowels Tire, Wyandotte for many years.
Norman married LaWanda Lorene Chesser, November 13, 1946 in Columbus, Kansas and she preceded him in death in November of 1996.
Survivors include one daughter, Yuvonne Durbin, Wyandotte; one sister, Edith Lofland, Seneca and two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Jay Frank Sams, 76, of Rogers died July 2, 2007 at a local hospital. He was born October 28, 1930 in Joplin, Missouri to Ernest Earl and Anna Fay Duffield Sams.
He married Joanne Cecelia Fitzgerald April 13, 1951. Jay was a past member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Joplin, Missouri and a current member of St Vincent DePaul Church in Rogers, Arkansas. He graduated from Pittsburg State College in Pittsburg, Kansas in 1952 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Jay taught school in Houston, Missouri, then returned to Joplin, Missouri and worked for Eagle Picher Industries as a Research Scientist. He also worked in Oakland, California in the same capacity. Returning to Joplin, Jay worked with his father Ernest Sams in Ernest Sams & Son Interiors for 30 years. Jay retired to Rogers in 1993 and managed Baltic Imports in Downtown Rogers.
Mr Sams is survived by his wife Joanne Sams and 5 children Melissa Ann Fields and husband Gary, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Daniell Joseph Sams and wife Mary, of Roland, Oklahoma, Andrew Bryan Sams and wife Casey, of Rogers, Jay Patrick Sams, of Garfield, Arkansas and Peter Fitzgerald Sams and wife Angie of Garfield, Arkansas 16 grand children Beau Charron of Austin Texas, Meg Charron of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Gidget Fields of Alexandria, Virginia, Molly Fields Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ty Sams of Rogers, Jacob Sams of Kodiak, Alaska, Danielle Sams of Roland, Oklahoma, Toby Cobb of Glenpool, Oklahoma, Shane Sams and Sarah Sams, Cote` and Andi Sams of Rogers, MacCauley, MacKenzie, Natalie, and Lindsey Sams of Garfield and 5 great grand children; Regean, and Lexi Sams Tyler, Hunter and Lane Cobb.

Mr. Lewis Edward Herring, age 75 of Seneca, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri.
Lewis began his journey on April 11, 1932 in Neck City, Missouri one of three children born to the late William Marion Herring and Sadie Belle (Howard) Herring. Lewis married Margie Whitehill on November 29, 1949 and to this union 8 children were born. Margie preceded him in death on October 15, 1998. On December 4, 1999 he married Josephine Vera Bennett at the Hart Community Church, where he was a member and pastor for the past 20 years. He had previously attended the Mt. Zion Church in Anderson, Missouri. Lewis enjoyed yard work and being on his tractor. Above all Lewis was very proud of his children and grandchildren; he cherished the time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Margie; one son, David Calvin Herring; four brothers, Melvin Whitehead, Leman Whitehead, Clovie Whitehead, Lloyd Whitehead; four sisters, Tressie Thomas, Violet White, Inis Barnes, Wanda Anderton; a grandson, Jamie Thompson; great grandchildren, Jennie Bridges and Dakota Mersman.
Lewis is survived by his loving wife of 7 years Josephine Herring of the home; two sons, Robert Herring and wife Pam of Seneca, Missouri and Billy Herring and wife DeAndra of Seneca, Missouri. Five daughters Linda Bridges of Neosho, Missouri; Judy Mersman and husband Skip of Carl Junction, Missouri; Jane Spencer and husband Arnold of Neosho, Missouri; Donna Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Susan McKee and husband Ernie of Seneca, Missouri. Four stepchildren, Lynna Testerman and husband Kenny; Melva King and husband Shawn; Kevin Bennett and Lisa Bennett all of Seneca, Missouri. One brother, Leonard Herring of Harrison, Arkansas and one sister, Ivie Robbins of Seneca, Missouri. 45 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren along with a host of family and friends who will remember Lewis as a dear friend and neighbor.
Funeral services for Mr. Lewis Edward Herring will be held on Monday, July 2, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Walker-Dowd Funeral Home Chapel in Anderson, Missouri. Reverend Wesley Hembree will officiate. Burial will follow the service at the New Bethel Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Pearl was born November 30, 1911 in Newton County, MO the daughter of Carl and Ethel Culp. She was a home maker and a member of the Seneca Assembly of God Church.
Pearl married Bill Friend February 16, 1929 and he preceded her in death January 29, 1990.
Survivors include one brother, Dean Culp, Leawood, KS; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Alvena Barnett and Shirley Shell; two brothers Johnny Culp and Gene Culp; three sisters, Geneva Robbinson, Erecell Friend and Beulah Zane.

Mr. Clyde D. Bennett, of rural Seneca, son of the late Harry and Margaret (Edwards) Bennett was born on March 30, 1921 in the Coy Community of McDonald County, Missouri. He departed this life on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at the Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years.
He was united in marriage to Joye Mentzer on December 4, 1950 in Bentonville, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on April 3, 2001.
Clyde was also preceded by his parents; a son, Daniel Clyde Bennett; six brothers, Jap, John, Bud, June and Floyd and Lloyd who died in infancy; and three sisters, Viola Cummings, Rosie Kelly and Vada Roark.
Clyde is survived by a son, Tom Bennett of Fayetteville, AR; two daughters, Bonnie Wetzel of Seneca, and Kelly Holt of Fayetteville, AR; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren, a sister, Clorina Mersman of Seneca, several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Clyde served in the United States Army during WWII from August of 1942 to September of 1945.
During most of his life, Clyde was a farmer and a construction worker. He was a charter member of Hope Community Church of rural Seneca.
Funeral services for Clyde D. Bennett were 10 a.m., Monday, June 18, 2007 at the Hope Community Church with Robert Roark, Mike Roark and Roger Mills officiating. Burial followed in the Cummings Cemetery near Tiff City, MO. The interment was officiated by Brother John Rose. Those who honored his life by serving as pallbearers were; Floyd austin, Larry Convirs, Jack Coyle, Maurice Mailes, Rogers and Randall Wilson.

George Leonard Burr, age 66 of Anderson, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 \ from injuries sustained when his vehicle was swept from a bridge near Tiff City, Missouri.
George began his journey on September 4, 1940 in Neosho, Missouri one of five children born to the late Claude Johnson and Burnice Martha (Arwood) Burr. He was a life long resident of McDonald County. George married the love of his life, Carolyn Anne Greer on August 1, 1963 in Miami, Oklahoma. He worked for Anderson Poultry Packers and Tyson Foods, during his 44 years in the poultry industry. George enjoyed fishing, gardening, cutting wood and reading western novels. Above all George was very proud of his children and grandchildren, he cherished the time spent with his family. Family and friends will remember George as a hard working family man and a one of a kind good ol boy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lee Burr.
George is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Carolyn Burr of the home; three sons ~ Sandy Chandler and wife Susan of Needles, California; Randy Chandler and wife Kim of Anderson and Jeremy Burr of Bella Vista, Arkansas. Jeanalee J. Franks Enlow, 71, Neosho, died on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at her home, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Franks was born Aug. 15, 1935 in Neosho, the daughter of Clifford Eugene and Ruby Faye Franks.
She was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Seneca High School in 1954. Jeanalee worked at the former Sale Memorial Hospital, now Freeman Neosho Hospital as Medical Records Supervisor and later worked at Pick N Save Variety Store in Neosho. She was a former member of Northside Baptist Church and currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Neosho.
She married James Richard Enlow on March 15, 1958 at Neosho and he preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1985.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Enlow and wife, Jeania of Neosho and Rusty Enlow and wife, Stacey of Goodman; five grandchildren, Lauren, Mica and Kaylan Enlow and Grace and Olivia Enlow; two brothers, Vic Franks and wife, Elana and Jon Franks and wife, Pat, all of Neosho; one sister, Mary Ann Guppy and husband, Gary, Neosho and a sister in law, Louise Johnson and husband, Carl, Naples, FL.

Maydeen was born January 31, 1924 in Sapulpa, OK the daughter of John and Edna May Eidson. She had owned and operated the former Hickory House Caf/ in Seneca, worked for Big Smith and retired form La-Z-Boy Midwest, in 1986.
Maydeen married Lester Earl Skaggs in Pineville, MO in the Spring of 1942 and he preceded her in death. Maydeen then married Wayne Ray in the fall of 1974 and he also preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, John Skaggs, Neosho, Clifford Skaggs and Bill Skaggs both of Seneca; two daughters Lois Greenwood and Linda Sprenkle both of Goodman; two sisters Margis Enochs, Joplin and Maxine Begley, St Joe, AR; three stepsons, Carl Ray, Seymore, MO., Jim Skaggs and Frank Skaggs both of Seneca; 30 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two children, Robert Dale and Donna Lankford; four brother and one sister.

Hilliary Wells Howerton, age 31 of Seneca, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, May 27, 2007 at Freeman Hospital West after courageously battling a rare form of cancer for over three years. Her main focus and attitude was, "if this is what God wants me to do, I will do it. And when God is ready for me to go, I will go."
Hilliary was born February 4, 1976 in Joplin. Raised in Carl Junction, she was a 1994 graduate of Carl Junction High School and moved to Seneca in 2000. A licensed nail technician, she was currently studying to be a veterinary assistant. She and her mother worked together with handicapped children as a Seneca School District Bus Driver and aide. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Seneca and Sunday school.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Hilliard Howerton and maternal grandmother, Irene W. Smith.
Survivors include her mother, Jan Lankford and husband Stan of Seneca; her father, Terry I. Howerton and wife Nicki of carl Junction; two daughters, Victoria Gabrielle "Gabbie" Howerton and Christian Wells Kilpatrick, both of the home; a brother, Terry Howerton of Chicago, IL; paternal grandmother, Mildred Howerton of Joplin; two stepbrothers, Tyler Lankford of Seneca, Charles Cruzan of Eagle Rock, MO; two stepsisters, Angela Consani of Leavenworth, KS, Brandy Stults of Little Rock, AR; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Margaret married Arthur O. Edwards Sr. in Georgetown, GA in 1946 and he preceded her in death April 7, 2001.

Oliver was born June 1, 1940 in Tulsa, OK the son of Free and Ester Kasler. He owned and operated Airco Service in Bartlesville, OK. Art was a Veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict serving two tours with the Marine Corps. He was of the Bahai Faith.
Oliver Art married Sharon Miller December 19, 1981 in Anaheim, CA and she survives.

Kasler, state of OK.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Kasler.
Graveside services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 11, 2007 at the Seneca Cemetery with Thomas Kasler officiating.

Darrell Wayne Overfelt, 75, Wyandotte, OK passed into eternal rest at 2:30 PM, Monday, May 7, 2007 at his residence south of Wyandotte after an illness.
Darrell Wayne Overfelt was born July 6, 1931 in Duncans Bridge, MO the son of Claude and Opal Overfelt. He lived most of his life in Kansas City Kansas retiring and moving toWyandotte in 1996. He had worked as a machinist and was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge.
Darrell Wayne Overfelt married Cyrena I. Pierron, June 2, 1951 in Leavenworth, KS and she survives.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Nona Marie Spence, Webb City, MO, Sandra Jo Wade, Joplin, MO and Marchell Lynn Sneed, Liberty, MO; two brothers, William Bill Overfelt, Madison, MO and Donald Overfelt, Kansas City, KS; one sister, Virginia Raines,Tucson, AZ; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother Robert Overfelt and one granddaughter Jennifer Sneed.

Wayne Eugene Anderson of Grove, OK, died April 20th at Grove Integris Hospital after a long illness. He was 84 years old.
Wayne was born October 30, 1922 in Quapaw, OK to Arthur Levi and Ruth Anderson.
He was a retired Dairy Farmer and lived in the Seneca area most of his life. Wayne served in the Air Force during WW II and a member of the Grove Church of Christ.
Wayne married Jean Gallemore in Seneca, MO on April 15, 1945 and they celebrated their 62nd anniversary last Sunday.
He is survived by his wife, Jean of the home; two sons, Arthur Anderson and wife Rose Mary, Miami and Earl Anderson and wife Eileen, Henderson, TN; two daughters, Hilda Skinner and husband Dave, Quartzite, AR and Phoebe Thomas, Grove; 7 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents two sisters and two brothers.
Graveside services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 23, 2007 at the Seneca Cemetery.

Marjorie was born October 6, 1924 in Monett, MO the daughter of William and Carrie Hawkins and lived in the Seneca area all of her life. She graduated from Seneca High School in 1942. Marjorie was a member of the Seneca United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
Marjorie married Billy Dean Cook October 5, 1943 in Joplin, MO and he preceded her in death March 3, 1982.
Survivors include, Three sons, Greg Cook, Bruce Cook and Rick Cook all of Seneca; One daughter, Debbie Harris, Joplin; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Elgar Hawkins and Clarence Hawkins; five sisters, Faye Routledge, Juanita Walker, Beulah Rakes, LaVonne Vicenti and Naomi McDonough.

Robert was born January 4, 1920 in Wyandotte OK, the son of Milton and Gladys Fowler. He had live in California for 60 years moving back to the area in 1990. Robert was a 1938 graduate of Wyandotte High School. He work 45 years for Douglas Air Craft in California as a Experimental mechanic. Robert served in the United States Army during WW II.
Robert married Margaret Loeffler in 1956 in Reno, NV and she preceded him in death in 1989.
Survivors include, Two brothers, Morris Fowler, Hutchinson, KS and Donald Fowler, Mesa, AR; One sister, Madalyn Oleman, Joplin; One granddaughter, Kellie Hanson, Palm Dale, CA and several nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was born June 20, 1922 in Anderson, MO the daughter of Norman and Rosa Etta Smith Medlin. She had lived in the Seneca area most of her life and was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
Bonnie married Leonard Bryant February 3, 1937 in Pineville, MO and he preceded her in death January 21, 2003.
Survivors include six sons, David Bryant and wife Jean, Corpus Christi, TX, James Bryant and wife Sue, Broken Arrow, OK, Wayne Bryant and wife Barbara, Starkville, MS, Kenneth Bryant, Miami, OK, Rick Bryant and wife Ivy, Seneca and Larry Bryant and wife Susan, Webb City; five daughters, Margaret Munson and husband Cork, Jacksonville, FL, Mary Largent and husband George, Loma Linda, Geneva Fisher and husband Randy, Seneca, Nancy Hierholzer and husband Bobby, Seneca and Shellie Olson and husband Dennis, Diamond; One brother, Roy Medlin, Grove, Ok; 33 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Jane Bechtle, 84, of Liberty passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at the Liberty Health Care Center in Liberty. She was a former resident of Elm Springs, Arkansas and Seneca, MO. She moved to Texas two years ago. She was born on November 11, 1922 to parents, Floyd Winchester and Ona Whittman Winchester.
She had worked for many years as a clerk in several retail stores in and around Elm Springs.
She is preceded in death by her Husband: Richard Bechtle, Sr.; Daughter: Marilyn Hoyle and Son Richard Bechtle, Jr.

Sammy Price Lagers
Sammy Price Lagers, the son of Elva Marshall and Edith Pearl (Ledford) Lagers was born October 24, 1933, in Tiff, McDonald County, Missouri. He died Thursday, April 5, 2007, at his home at the age of 73 years.
Sammy graduated from high school in Seneca, MO. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. On June 16, 1953, Sammy married Mary Jo Johnson in Eudora, KS. He retired as a general engineer from Born Engineering. Sammy was instrumental in starting Legion Park and Powers Park, and coached Little League baseball for 16 years. He was an avid golfer and quail hunter, and a member of the American Legion.
Sammy was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo; son, Marshall Lagers; his parents; siblings: Vernon Lagers, Glen Lagers, Joy Golden, Dean Lagers, Roe Lagers and Ethel Lou Wilson; and grandchildren, Meghan Lagers and Chadwick Culley.
He is survived by his children: Russell Lagers and wife, Donna of Claremore, OK Vernona Lewis and husband, Frank of Nashville, TN, Theresa Holloway and husband, Mickey of Pryor, OK; daughter-in-law, Lisa Luper of Little Kansas, OK; grandchildren:

Mary married J.A. Turner, August 13, 1949 in Lawton, OK and he preceded her in death September 29, 1996.
Survivors include four daughters, Shirley J. Adriance, Del Rio, TX, Janet Sue Lawrence, Richmond, VI , Donna M. She was born in Medicine Lodge, KS and graduated from Atlanta, KS High School in 1950. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed Colorado, antiques, socializing with close friends, watching the Denver Broncos, playing bridge, and entertaining her grandchildren.

Barbara Louise Corbin was born April 28, 1939 in Cherokee, Ok the daughter of William R. and Rena O. Flowers Cross. She had lived in the Seneca Area over 20 years and had worked at the former Virginias Family Restaurant in Seneca. Barbara attended Set Free Ministries in Wyandotte.
Barbara married Jimmie Joe Corbin July 24, 1954 in Cherokee, OK and he survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Jimmie Dean Corbin, Seneca; two daughters, Regina M. Chaffin, Joplin and Barbara R. Ronald G. Reed, former Joplin resident and city employee went home to be with the Lord on March 14, 2007 in Sierra Vista, AZ, following a long illness. Ron was born on March 20, 1943, he graduated from Seneca High School and spent his early years working at various jobs including Seneca News Dispatch.
Ron retired from the Joplin Fire Department in 1991 after 27 years of service. Ron loved his work and serving the Joplin community. After retiring, he moved to Colorado Springs where he worked for Focus on the Family for a few years then ventured further southwest to Arizona.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Juanita Reed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Karen. Ron was dedicated to her and his family and spoke often of his love for them. He is also survived by his sons, Steve Reed and wife, Linda; and Scott Reed of Joplin, MO. Daughter Felicia Novotny and husband Michael of Sierra Vista, AZ; sisters Twyla (and husband, Stanley) Snow, Cindy (and husband Joe) Hartzler of Seneca, MO; brother Alan (and wife Carrier) Reed of Edgewood, Maryland: grandchildren Trisha and Levi Reed of Joplin, MO; Matthew Novotny of Sierra Vista, AZ, a niece and several nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Webb City, MO on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. The family will e at the home of Twyla and Stanley Snow on Saturday evening. Sunday, March 25, at 2:00 p.m. a brief visitation and graveside service will be at the Swars Prairie Church of Christ, southeast of Seneca on Redbud Rd. Vivian Edith Kuhn, age 94, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2007.
She was born August 9, 1912, in Tarnov, NE, the daughter of the late Thomas Sherwell Hoare and Fanny Thomazin Hoare. Her family moved to Seneca in 1914 where she attended school.
Vivian married John Charles Kuhn in 1929, and he preceded her in death in 1975. She was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church, and more recently a member of Seneca First Baptist Church. She and her husband were involved in farming in the Seneca area for many years.
Survivors include a son, J.C. Kuhn and Tedra of Joplin; two daughters, Lois Keck and Leon of Albuquerque, NM; and Mary Ann Rhea of Joplin; grandchildren, Joan LaMunyon-Sanford of Albuquerque; Laura Gallaway and Scott of Fairview, TX; Jason Keck and Deborah of Arroyo Grande, CA; Bruce Kuhn of Joplin; Brian Kuhn and Tressie of Joplin; Teri Thomas and Ray of Arlington, VA; Susannah Watkins and Mark of Joplin; Eric Rhea and Melynn of Webb City; Kelly Woodford and Jim of Gunnison, CO; eighteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Vivian was preceded in death by sisters Fern DeWeese and Lois Colley, and brothers George, Melvin, and Tom Hoare.

Marian J. Lindenfelser, 80, Joplin, died at 8:30 am, Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Freeman West Hospital, following a long illness. Mrs. Lindenfelser was born Jan. 18, 1927 in Anderson, MO, the daughter of Joseph M. and Utha (Williams) Thurman.
She was a lifelong area resident, a homemaker and enjoyed doing puzzles, shopping and fishing. Her husband, Dale Lindenfelser preceded her in death in 1989.
Survivors include four children, Jeannie Sturgeon, Joplin; Bob Lindenfelser, Erick, OK; Joseph Lindenfelser, Seneca, and Jim Lindenfelser, Princeton, MN; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Derrick James Lindenfelser and two brothers, Bob Thurman and Don Thurman.
Services will be Friday, March 16, 2007 at 10:00 am at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Peace Valley Cemetery, Anderson and pallbearers will be Mike Thurman, Jerry Williams, Dennis Williams, Jr Williams, Joey Addington and Robert Michael Lindenfelser.

Edith Jewell Cope, 91, Seneca, Mo passed into eternal rest at 1:45 PM, March 8, 2007 at the Seneca House Nursing Home after a long illness.
Born to Claude and Byrl Macy on September 30, 1915 in Neosho, Missouri.
Edith married George P. Cope, June 10, 1934 at Columbus, Kansas. They were married 70 years. George preceded her in death August 15, 2004.
Edith was a member of the First Baptist Church, Seneca and a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Howard Cope and wife Carolyn of Rolla, MO; one daughter, Shirley Rogers and husband Dennis, Seneca; one brother C.W. Chub Macy, Neosho; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Oakwood Cemetery off AA Highway south of Neosho, with Doug Lehman officiating.

Sue Fae Barnett, 69, Seneca, passed into eternal rest March 1, 2007 at her home after a sudden illness.
Sue was born in South West City Aug. 22, 1937 to Fred and Jerry Hays. She had lived in the Seneca area most of her life and had formerly worked for Eagle Pitcher in Joplin. She was member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 4142, Neosho and attended Refuge House Church in Joplin, MO.
Sue married Jack Barnett on Oct. 3, 1960 in Seneca, MO and he preceded her in death Sept. 8, 1998.
Survivors include three sons, Niles Barnett, Wichita, KS, Bob Austin, Joplin and Orvel Barnett, Racine; two daughters, Viva Holloway, Seneca and Jerry Noel, Diamond; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Louis Hays.
Funeral Services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Chapel. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Monday March 5, 2007 from 6 to 7 PM at the funeral home.

Howard Wallace Anderson, Jr., age 87 of Joplin, passed away at 2:55 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2007 at St. John's Regional Medical Center.
Born November 18, 1919, in Baxter Springs, KS, he was the son of the late Howard Sr., and Margaret Whitmann, Anderson. In 1960, he moved to Springfield, MO from Webb City and returned to live in Joplin in 1970. He retired as an auditor with Prudential Insurance CO. A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he served from 1943 to 1946 and transferred to the Manhattan Atomic Bomb Project. He was a member of Webb City Lodge No. 512, A.F. & A.M.
On July 4, 1941 he married Geraldine Williams Anderson. She preceded him in death on March 4, 1992.
On August 6, 1996 he married Mary Luellen Cooper Anderson. She survives.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Anderson in 1999.
Additional survivors are a daughter, Betty Anderson of Los Angeles, CA; a son, Stephen Anderson and wife Nancy of Burbank, CA; a brother WIlliam Anderson and wife Hazel of Topeka, KS; stepchildren, Virginia Caylor, Darrell D. Gilstrap, Lionel Gilstrap, Debra Judy, Pamela Zimmerman; several nieces and nephews.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. Interment was in the Seneca Cemetery at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 26th. the family requests no flowers, however memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Russell James Pete Peterson, 81, Seneca, MO passed into eternal rest at 8:40 AM, January 30, 2007 at his home after an illness.
Pete was born in Tebbetts, MO the son of Mickelson T and Emma Ida Love Peterson. He had lived in Seneca 42 years. He was a member of the Seneca Church of Christ, the former VFW in Seneca and Meals on Wheels. Pete retired from the Army of the United States as a First Sergeant. He severed during WWII and the Korean Conflict.
Pete married Lena M. Riefsteck, October 19, 1954 in Fulton, MO and she preceded him in death August 27, 1988. Pete married Alta June Caywood, June 3, 1989 in Seneca, MO and she survives.
Additional survivors include three sons, James E. Peterson, Springdale, AR, Mickelson E. Peterson, Cannon City, CO and Shad R. Peterson, Seneca; three daughters, Judy K. Graff, Littleton, CO, Hattie E. Grigsby, Monett, MO and Kandi M. Rohmiller; two brothers, Forrest H. Peterson, Musktine, IA and Richard L. Peterson, Esconodo, CA; four sisters, Joanne Bullard, Columbia, MO, Helen L. Kaufman, Fulton, MO, Eglentine E. Trainer, Davenport, IA and Dorcas E. Stafford, Independence, KS; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren and host of friends including Tom Powers, Seneca.
He was preceded in death by one son, Frances L. Peterson and one grandson Donnie Allen Graff.

Edna Jean Hembree Childress Breedlove, 61, Neosho, died at 10:30 a.m., Sat. Feb. 3, 2007 at Freeman Neosho Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born April 19, 1945 in Denver, Colo, to William Abe and Iva Maxine (Eads) Hembree.
Mrs. Breedlove was a lifelong area resident and a factory worker. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy E. Breedlove, and by a brother, Ronald E. Hembree.
She is survived by two children, Theresa Jean Childress, Neosho, and Douglas Childress and wife, Janice, Goodman; a grandson, Gary Lee Hall, Goodman; four stepchildren, Jamie, Julie, Jeanie and Jodie, all of Kingman, Ariz.; a brother, Gene Hembree and wife, Barbara, Warsaw, MO; special in-laws, Bill and Dorothy Childress, Neosho; sister-in-law, Emma Hembree, Neosho; a very special person in her life, Nina Kirby, Grove, OK; and many other relatives and friends.

Darrell D. Groff was born February 6, 1933 in Tell, Texas the son of Herschel Ervin and Jewell E. Hughes Groff. Darrell was a truck driver for many years driving for CFI, Joplin. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
He married Goldie F. Harding, February 23, 1978 in Joplin, MO and she preceded him in death September 14, 2000.
Survivors include one sister; Cherrill Groff Speaar, Amarillo, TX; five grandchildren, Donna Burks and Sheral Fitzjarrell, both of Marshfield, MO, Sandy Ray, Pryor, OK, Mary Cook, Niangua, MO and Ronnie House, Galena, KS and 12 great grandchildren.
Viewing and Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 PM, Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Chapel. Following the viewing and visitation the body will be taken for cremation.

She married Eldon R. Wilson May 31, 1958 in Miami, OK and had lived around the Seneca area most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Vernon Lagers, Glen Lagers, Dean Lagers and Roe Lagers; one sister Joy Golden, Seneca.

Gregory William Capps was born July 25, 1957 in Neosho, MO to James and Jackie Anderson Capps. He had lived in the area all his life and work for 29 years as a tool and dye maker of the Lozier plant in Joplin, MO.
Gregory married Debbie McMullin, June 16, 1990 in Wyandotte, OK and she survives.
Additional survivors include two brothers, Michael Capps and wife Shelly, Neosho and James Capps and Tressa, Joplin; one sister, Lori Smith and husband Rick, Tulsa; three nieces; three nephews and a host of friends.

Mr. Heffren was born Oct. 28, 1974 in Joplin, MO and was a lifelong Seneca, MO, Newton?County resident. He had worked as a cook before becoming disabled and attended the Assembly of God Church.
Michael married Connie Anderson-Vance on Dec. 2, 2005 at Diamond and she also perished in the fire.
Survivors include his mother, Becky Spears and husband, Virgil, Anderson, MO; father Larry Heffren, Seneca; stepchildren, Christel ONeal and husband Wayne; Amy Waterhouse and husband Guy, both of Neosho. Joe Dean Vance, Joplin; Cody Wade Vance and Madysen Vance, both of Neosho; J.R. Cance and Katie Vance, both of the home. Two sisters; Tina Burwell and husband Joseph and Theresa Heffren, both of Seneca. Maternal grandmother, Helen Lannon, Seneca; five nephews, Jeffrey, jerrod and Jacob Burwell, Cody Heffren, Christopher Connely and niece Kikia Heffren.

Edgar Ramage Jr. died on January 12, 2007 at the age of 62 following a long illness. He resided in Joplin most of his life then moved to Seneca for the last ten years.
Teddy was born June 27, 1944 in Joplin. He was the son of Edgar Sr. and Gladys Ramage who proceeded him in death. He worked until 1990 in Teds Radiator Repair which he co-owned with his father.
He is survived by two daughters, Christina Cliffman of Bronaugh, Mo., and Deborah Henningsen of Chetopa, Ks. Two Sisters, Mary Ann Clubb and June Chung both of Joplin. five grandchildren, Stephen Wilson, Stormi Wilson, Kayla Stewart, Stephanie Henningsen and Kristen Henningsen. One great grandchild, Miya Shea Lawson. Teddy was preceded in death by his brother Donald.
A private family gathering will be held at a future date. Teddy has been Cremated.

Norman LeRoy Robbins was born April 1, 1946 in Springfield, MO the son of Wilbur and Eula King Robbins. Norman had lived in the Wyandotte area over 20 years and was the Head of Maintenance for the Wyandotte Tribe in Wyandotte, OK.
Norman married Julia Marr February 20, 1974 in Miami, OK and she survives.
Additional survivors include; one brother, Mike Robbins, Higley, AZ; two sisters Ada Robbins, Seneca and Carol Betts, Hot Springs, AR; one step-son, Bobby Martin, Seneca.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Robbins and one nephew Shannon Robbins.
Memorial graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, January 12, 2007 at the New Salem Cemetery east of Seneca under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
The body has been taken for cremation.

Wanda was born March 25, 1921, in Ottawa County, OK, to William and Nellie Wiles Cantwell. She married Alvin Hurtt on Oct. 27, 1945 in Springfield, MO.
Wanda died November 24, 2006 of congestive heart failure and cancer at age 85, in Springfield, OR. Memorial services were held at McKenzie Valley Presbyterian Church in Walterville, OR, on Dec. 1, 2006.
Wanda attended #4 grade school and graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1940. She loved to attend the class reunions and attended many of them including her 65th in May, 2005.
She was an office and administrative worker at the Pentagon during World War II and later at the National Capital Council of Churches. She was a math teacher's aide.
Survivors include her husband, Alvin; a daughter, Maryann Hurtt of Elkhart Lake, WI, a son James R. of Springfield, OR, three sisters Betty Brown of Battleground, WA, Dean Matile of Canby, OR and Joyce Wooten of Portland, OR, a brother Charles Cantwell of Roseburg, OR and two grandchildren. An infant son, James W., died previously.
Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. Arrangements by Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield, OR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolph Oscar and Iva Lois (Ralston) Burleson and two brothers, Eddie Burleson and Kenneth Burleson.
He is survived by an ex-wife, Sharlene Carter, two sons, Shannon Leroy Burleson and Keith Ryan Paul Burleson; one daughter, Misti Marie Hunt; five grandchildren, two brothers Ernest Burleson and Clyde Burleson and three sisters: Iva Jean Barton, Geneca McElhany and Sharon Smith and many friends and relatives.
He worked in the log woods and sawmill business then went into designing and building hand carved furniture.

Don M. Kelly, age 76 of Cushing died on Tuesday evening January 2nd, 2007 at the Cushing Regional Hospital, Cushing, OK.
Don was born on October 23, 1930 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to John Collins Kelly and Nelle (Dutton) Kelly. Don grew up in Seneca, Missouri where he graduated from Seneca High School in 1948. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Business Administration, and served in the U. S. Army in Europe during the Korean War.
Don was involved in the radio industry all of his life, owning radio stations in Liberal, KS, Blackwell, Cushing, and Ponca City, OK, and Borger, TX. He was also co-founder of the Show and Tell Times and the News Review in Payne County, Oklahoma. Don was the highest ever rated daily radio show Kelly and Chauncy in Tulsa, OK. in the early 1960s. He also enjoyed boating and flying.
He married Mary Jane Sandlin in 1958 and to this union four children were born. The marriage ended after 22 years. He married Edith Combs in April of 1982. She preceded him in death in 1996.
Don was preceded in death by two brothers Jimmy Kelly and John D. Kelly, and daughter Kathleen Kelly.
Survivors include his son Sean Kelly and wife Mary of Stillwater, OK, daughters Dana Stilwell and husband Bob of McKinney, TX, Tracy Leonard and husband Michael of Tulsa, OK, step children Gary Combs and wife Alissa of Hampstead, NC, Lisa Combs of Jacksonville, NC, Denise Tetlow and Wayne of Michigan.
Additional survivors include a brother, Paul Richard (Dick) Kelly and wife Gloria of Cave Creek, AZ, sister-in-law Minnie Kelly of Seneca, grandchildren Aaron Kelly, Kayla Kelly, Jasmine Stilwell, Christian and Shannon Leonard, and five step grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Rosary service was held at 6:00 p.m., Friday evening, January 5th at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Cushing, OK. Funeral Mass was at 1:00 p.m., Saturday at the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Cushing. Interment services were at the Euchee Valley Cemetery , Cushing.

Three car crash results in the death of one driver

Cleo G. Boyer, 86 of Seneca, was pronounced dead at 5:13 p.m. at Freeman Hospital in Joplin as the result of an accident which occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 27, at about 3:55 p.m. His wife, Lavonna L. Boyer, 88, was also transported to Freeman hospital in serious condition.
The accident occurred approximately one mile south of Joplin as Boyer, who was driving a 2005 Chevrolet, was making a left turn westbound onto Coyote road. His vehicle was struck by a northbound 1997 Chevrolet pickup driven by 40 year old Eric Lofton of Oronogo, MO. Linda M. Bradway, 37 of Joplin, swerved her southbound 1997 Geo SUV in an attempt to avoid the accident and sideswiped the Boyer automobile.
The 2005 Chevrolet Boyer was driving and the 1997 Chevrolet pickup driven by Lofton were both totalled in the accident. The 1997 Geo SUV sustained only minor damage.
All of the persons involved in the accident were wearing their seat belts.

Cleo George Boyer
Cleo George Boyer, 86, of Seneca, died suddenly, as the result of an auto accident, in Joplin, on Wednesday, December 27, 2006. He was born April 9, 1920 in Seneca to George and Carrie (Beck) Boyer.
Mr. Boyer was a longtime Seneca area resident, having also lived for a number of years in the western United States. He was a school teacher in both public and 7th Day Adventist Schools. He also taught at reservation schools in Utah and New Mexico, as a member of the Civil Service. During the 1930s he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a very active member of the Neosho 7th Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed being a HAM Radio enthusiast, and a beekeeper.
He married Martha Josephine Browning in Kellogg, Idaho, January 18, 1944. They were married for 61 years, prior to her death July 25, 2006.
He married Levanna Jenkins, in November of 2005; she survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Ralph N. Boyer of Kingston, TN, and Benjamin B. Boyer of Acworth, GA; two sisters, Leola Paschal of Brookfield, MO, and Dollie Tulley of Midland, TX; nine grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Ray and Morris Wayne; one brother Laverne Boyer, and two sisters, Lois Boyer, and Louise Thorn.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007 at the Clark Chapel of Memories in Neosho with Pastor Tom Michalski officiating. Interment will follow in the Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-3p.m. Sunday at the funeral home; additional viewing will be noon-5 on Sunday. Gertrude Lorene Tiny Hodson age 85, of Seneca, Missouri was called to heaven peacefully at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri following a sudden illness.
Gertrude was born on June 18, 1921 in Powell, Missouri one of four children born to the late Grover Adli and Lilly Ann (Stout) Mersman. She spent most of her life in McDonald County before moving to Seneca five years ago. Gertrude graduated from the White Rock High School in Jane, Missouri.
She was united in marriage to Ealin Curly Hodson on January 3, 1939 in Seneca, Missouri. Together they owned and operated the Hodson Greenhouse in Anderson, selling lots of tomato plants to family and friends. Gertrude enjoyed teaching Sunday school and helping with vacation bible school, she was a very dedicated and active member of the McNatt Baptist Church in Goodman, Missouri. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a good Christian, very loving and wonderful wife, mother and very special grandmother who adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ealin Curly Hodson on May 15, 1996; two brothers Bob Mersman and Ed Mersman along with a sister Irene Anderton.
Gertrude is survived by her loving daughter Cindee Mitchell and husband Sam of Seneca, Missouri ~ one sister Lucille Ridgway and husband James Marshall of Seneca, Missouri; three grandchildren ~ Kimberly Keith and husband Den ~ Tracy Hodson and wife Halee ~ Krystal Keeler and husband Jeff all of Anderson, Missouri; seven great grandchildren ~ Mitch Keith, Kole Keith, Walker Keith, Kali Hodson, Kennedy Hodson, Jordan Keeler and Lexi Keeler along with many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors who will deeply miss Gertrude and her wonderful smile.
Funeral services for Gertrude Lorene Hodson were held on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at l0:00 a.m. at the McNatt Baptist Church in Goodman, Missouri the Reverend Bruce Love officiated.
Burial will follow the service at the New Bethel Cemetery in Anderson. Tracy Hodson, Den Keith, Jeff Keeler, Sammy Mitchell, Bobby Mitchell, Brian Heckhart and Mitch Keith will honor Gertrudes life by serving as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions in loving memory of Gertrude may be given to the McNatt Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.

Thomas Frank Skelton was born in Madera, CA on November 28, 1944 to Raymond and Minnie Skelton. He resided in Chowchilla, CA from birth until 1997. He moved to Spokane for 3 years and then to Oklahoma.
He is survived by 4 children, Carrie Davis of California, Brian Skelton of Oklahoma, Audra Wilson, and Deborah Gordon both of Washington. He has 14 grandchildren. He was divorced at the time of death. He was a retired General Building Contractor of many years.
He has 3 brothers and 2 sisters. They are Forrest Skelton of CA, Ivelyn Blanton of OK Evelyn of MO, Danny Skelton and William Skelton both of CA. he was the fifth child out of six. He had just celebrated his 62nd birthday one month before his passing.
He was one of a kind with a quick wit and a unique personality. Always the comedian and the life of the party, he will be missed very much. He was dearly loved by all who knew him.
Funeral services under the arrangements of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 6, 2007 at New Salem Baptist Church. Burial will be in the New Salem Cemetery.

Terry Lynn Cook, age 52, a resident of Joplin, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2006, at his home.
Terry was born November 25, 1954, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Vernon Cook and the late Norma Jean Duffie Cook. He graduated from Seneca High School and attended a welding trade school and became a certified welder.
In addition to his father, Vernon, survivors include his stepmother, Nancy Cook; one daughter, Angie Ackerson and husband, of Seneca; three sons, Ezra Margerum, of Joplin, Dalton Cook, of Joplin and Gabriel Cook, stationed with the military in Iraq; two brothers, Gregory Cook, of Seneca and Bryon Cook, of Seneca; a sister, Debbie Duncan, of Joplin, and two grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, January 3, at 11 a.m. at Kirk Cemetery, with Kenji Harrington officiating.
